This section explains the procedure for sending and receiving data collected using the Standard app to the PC using Bluetooth.

The steps to send and receive data to the PC using Bluetooth are as follows.

I will explain the Bluetooth settings of the PC.

This section describes the steps to configure OseComm32 using
OseComm32 Settings Utility.
Sending and receiving files
We will explain the procedure for sending the data file of the Standard app to the PC side via Bluetooth.
 *This procedure is explained using Windows 10.

(Important)

  • The required environment is as follows.
    Windows10 or higher
    Bluetooth SPP communication possible
  • Bluetooth settings

    (Operation method)

    1. Check your PC's built-in Bluetooth.
      You can check whether the Bluetooth function is available in "Device Manager".
      If there is an item , it has Bluetooth function.
    2. Turn on Bluetooth on your PC.
      Tap "Bluetooth" from [Bluetooth & other devices] to turn it on/off.

      When using our OPA-3201-USBHCI:
      • For PCs with built-in Bluetooth
        Disable the built-in Bluetooth adapter if it conflicts with your existing built-in Bluetooth adapter.
      • If a third-party driver is recognized unintentionally
        Please change from "Update driver software" to "Generic Bluetooth Radio" (display may differ depending on your environment). If more than one is displayed, uncheck "Show compatible hardware", Select "Generic Bluetooth Radio" from the manufacturer "Cambridge Silicon Radio Ltd.".

    Pairing

    (Operation method)

    1. Standard appMain menu ⇨ F1 key & #x21E8; Device settings ⇨ Bluetooth settings

    3. Press the SCAN key to scan the QR code.
    4. When communication starts, the PC will request confirmation of device connection.
      Click Allow and the connection will be successful.

    5. (Caution)

      If your PC does not respond when you try to connect via Bluetooth:
      If other Bluetooth devices are working fine, but you cannot connect with the OPH-5000i or the PC does not respond, please check the following items.
      1. Check "Allow Bluetooth devices to connect to this computer" in Bluetooth settings

      2. Check the pairing status
        If you have used it as a HID keyboard with a user app, etc., select "Delete device" to delete the pairing information.

      3. Check if the Bluetooth adapter is recognized correctly
        Multiple Bluetooth adapters cannot be operated at once. Please confirm that "△" is not displayed in the device name in Device Manager.

    OseComm32 settings

    Use the OseComm32 Settings Utility to configure the OseComm32 Utility.
    Before making these settings, you must perform pairing at least once and create a Bluetooth incoming port on your PC.

    1. Select "OseComm32 settings" in the "Opticon" folder in the start menu to start the OseComm32 settings utility and open the settings screen.

        Select
      • Single Instance.
      • Select Use Bluetooth serial port.
      • Check [Automatically restart Bluetooth when OseComm32 starts].
      • Check Automatically restart OseComm32 when a fatal error occurs on the Bluetooth port.
    2. Next, press the [Protocol Task...] button to edit the protocol task.

      On the protocol task screen, select Add task... and then Receive file. "File Reception" is a task that saves files on the OPH-5000i to the PC.

      Configure detailed settings for the file reception task.

      • Specify [terminal file name:]. (e.g. DAT*.CSV)
      • Check Continue task when file not found.
      • Click [...] in [Incoming Folder:] to select the incoming folder.

      Select other options according to your environment.

      When the settings are complete, click "OK".
    3. On the protocol task screen, select [Add task...], [Delete file], specify the same file name as the file receive task, and click Press the OK button. "File deletion" is a task to delete files on OPH-5000i.

    4. The task you set will be displayed in the task list. Click OK.
    5. Click OK in the OseComm32 settings to save the settings and exit.

    File sending/receiving

    (Operation method)

    1. Select “OseComm32” in the “Opticon” folder in the start menu. The OseComm32 utility will start and the screen shown below will open.
      Automatically runs the protocol when you start a configured OseComm32 utility.

      Operation example (PC side):

    2. Collect data using the collection task and select "File Send/Receive" from the main menu of OPH-5000i.
      Press the "Q1 key" to start sending and receiving files.

    3. Display the file information received by OseComm32.
